It's a new spin on the harem genre. All the girls are in love with the protag, but so far in the manga and novel the protag has -1000% interest in romance. He is a full blown chuuni and he tries (unsuccessfully) to be villager A, I mean he even invents the Mobfu fighting style to lose as spectacularly as possible. It's comedy gold

Harem theme 0% chance of romance or reciprocation. If a heroine dies tragically in front of the protagonist saving him, I have a feeling he would be meh. The harem theme here is a minor plot device and is not the central piece of the protag's story.

This dude took out an ex military man who's actually been to war too, it's possible, but the plot armor is there, not once was a single gun fired. The only bit of plot saying he can fight is after the fact. I still don't believe a kid who looks like he weights 100 lbs at the most can take on an 180 lbs man.

Exactly like the guy up there said man, if this dude was ripped and in shape, for sure, it'll already make everything possible in a more plausible way, but the MC is scrawny asf, looks like another pretty boy protag.

First thing, he beat him with crowbars. When weapons are introduced to fights, your weight or your muscles, stop matter.
Second thing, what anime doesn't show you, he is a fighting fanatic (the boy), something like a Batman, he learned many, many martial arts, and he always learns it to perfection. He is obsessed with it, to the point, that when he finds out it will not make him the best, he thought he needs to find something else as well. He then tryes to learn magic, he tryes everything that is said about magic in our world, books people etc. to the point, where when he doesn't learn it, he tryes to beat it in his head by smashing it to the wall (or somethign else, i don't remeber exactly) to a point when he got a concussion and mitook the white light he sees, for him actually learning it.
He is an actual idiot and i growed to actually almost hate him, through reading the novel. He is the biggest idiot of them all. He is powerfull like hell, but that goes with his idiocy, it's even worse later in the novel.
BTW you missinpreted my answer before, for trying to excuse it. LOL i did not, i only stated what is true for that anime. That's all.
I don't care to whom is it catering for, i am 47 years old and i am ok with almost anything, as long as it entertains me. This story did at the beginning, because it was similar to Overlord, how his NPC's adore him, this girls so it the same way to the MC. Though Ainz really cares about them, this one does not at all, only if it helps his goal, to being the shadow eminence.

They didn't, bc this stuff was never in the manga lol. It started out really goofy with him running to a truck. There was never a highschool plot and beating kidnappers, and I was actually confused and kept checking if I'm watching the right anime. They made it so much more serious here. He was, and still is, mega unserious in the manga. This past life set up is purely anime. So they didn't ruin anything, bc the manga has always been on crack.
